Big Brother Brand

Today, Big Brother Brand has moved on to the tetrahedron challenge (Thank you very much Mr. Martin), and we seem to have made significant progress on that over the past day.

So, today (or everyday to be more accurate) the robot has decided that it does not want to cooperate with Big Brother Brand, and now we will fail an elective class, won't be able to graduate high school or go end up going to community college, and wont be at the top of our class because of an elective class. We've been working on this for weeks, and the zeroes just keep coming in and we will never finish, so our grade is going to remain an F. We very sincerely don't know what to do, and we've tried everything that Mr. Martin has told us to do: we've charged the battery, tightened the screws, made the environment clean, and even asked other groups for help, which is apparently not good enough to get our dumb robot to work. Now that we have free time (because we are done studying for testing), we will try to come in during study hall, and other free periods to work on the figure 8, but we will not finish every challenge by the end of the year.

Finally! We figured out the problem with our figure 8! For some reason all of the screws on the robot were loose, so we had to tighten them, and we also started charging our battery on Wednesday, which has helped us progress a lot. Today, we ran our first official after it worked perfectly two times in a row, and the robot managed to fail us when Mr. Martin was watching.  Also, our battery was displaying that it had 8.2 voltage on it and was dying when we ran the code, so we replaced the battery, and will use the new one next class. At least now we have hope, and I am certain that Hunter and I will finish the figure 8 and be able to move on to the tetrahedron by the end of next class! P.S. Hunter is wearing a different outfit in each photo because he has the second picture so he needs to upload it, so meanwhile, there is a picture of hunter on Monday looking very cute.

Today we are still working on the figure 8, but now we are able to finally use the work space after a long discussion with the autodads. Now, since they deleted RobotC when they gave us the workspace, they put us behind, lacking the gracious professionalism that they are supposed to represent.  Not that we weren't already 4 weeks behind, but they have no moral values and they've been wanting us to be behind for so long. So we've wasted the first 45 minutes of class reinstalling RobotC. I (Rom) I have a game plan for how I'm going to get work done in this class. Anyways, hopefully we can get our figure 8 done by the end of this week. Also, the photos for this week will be of Hunter because I am taking the pictures.

So it turns out that we cannot move forward without completing the figure 8. Big Brother Brand has found a possible solution to the issues it was having with the figure 8, so hopefully today we will be able to successfully complete it. We are saying "today" because today is the only day this week that we will be in engineering.

This week we finished our Solidworks build, but sadly our dysfunctional robot doesn't run half the time, doesn't follow the program, and decides to turn off while at full charge. This has caused backwards progression ending our hopes and dreams of ever completing it...

It is finally done and now we can move on to the next SolidWorks challenge! Always better late than never!

Today, Big Brother Brand is hoping to finally actually finish  programming  its figure 8, and to begin on the Tetrahedron challenge and also building it on SolidWorks.

This week we finished the Square Bot on solidworks and worked on the figure-8 and got it to finish the first lap. Sadly we were cut short of our goal due to our controller battery dying. hopefully we finish next class.

So, last week Big Brother Brand had finished its SolidWorks build, but the computer crashed and all of the data was lost. Sadly, Big Brother Brand had to start over, and due to no access to SolidWorks at home, we were unable to get any work done. Hopefully, today we will be able to finish the SolidWorks Square Bot build, and be able to get a grade. This week is a short week, but we are still planning on getting the figure 8 and SolidWorks done, and hopefully finally moving on to something new.

Today, Big Brother Brand is slowing down the figure-eight programming in hopes to accomplish its SolidWorks build because it's due by the end of class. We are having some complications with our SolidWorks parts, so it will be a little hard, but the outcome is looking good! :)

Since we have a 3 day week this week, Big Brother Brand will have plenty of time to complete our work. We are hoping to be done with our SolidWorks build by Wednesday, and we want to complete the autonomous figure 8 challenge by the end of the week. We also need to 3D Print our battery pack!

Today Big Brother Brand continued its efforts on the SolidWorks build. Hunter will not take pictures of Rom doing things, so Rom was required to take a selfie to prove that he is actually present in class. Here is a picture of Hunter working on the SolidWorks assembly. ^

Today, Big Brother Brand will be working on its SolidWorks assembly. Due to complications with our personal computers at home, we were unable to complete the virtual build at home. We are hoping to accomplish this by the end of next class.

Today we programmed our robot, and tried many different controls for it until deciding on the one we liked. Because it is an early release day, we didn't do much. but next week we will get a lot done!

Today we found out that we need to be in the pictures we upload to our blog. So now we are uploading pictures of us working with the bot, so we can update our posts. This week, we are planning on finishing the SquareBot, and programming it to work with the controller. Also, we want to start on our Solid Works build.

This week, Big Brother Brand has finished the painful task of taking apart the "torque" robot. After cleaning out our cart, we started building the square bot. Next week, we are hoping to finish building our square bot, and to assemble it on Solid Works.

Today, Big Brother Brand had finally finished taking apart the torque robot. It was a pain in the behind because it was built in a very frustrating way, so we had to get help from the AutoDADs. This week we are hoping to begin our Solid Works build and Physical build.

Good Morning, this week we haven't accomplished much besides our blog bios. This is because Solid Works wasn't working. Now it is working, so we are going to start our virtual build. However, we are not sure which bot we are supposed to be working on so we are doing the claw bot. We are hoping to get a clearer understanding of what we need to do next week, so we can more effectively get our work done. :)
